¿Cómo adaptar rincones de casa para tu peque?

How to adapt corners of the house for your little one?

, by Carolina Isabel Gonzalez Hernandez

Mom, I'm alone!!

It's the phrase I've been hearing at home lately, and I confess, it has cost us some tantrums.

Over the 18 months begins the stage where the little ones seek autonomy.

They want to do everything themselves, and although it is exhausting, it is a good time to teach them to do some tasks by themselves.

A good idea may be to adapt corners of the house so that your little one can do things alone.

I show you in detail:

Three simple ideas

that we have used at home to accompany Matteo in this phase:

1.- Water dispenser at your height: 🚰💦

Rincón para peque en la cocina

We did it in a corner of the kitchen with a shelf and a water dispenser both from Ikea.

The shelf is JONAXEL in its smallest version cost us €25 (See here). The water dispenser is made of glass, it is called IKEA 365+ and you can see it HERE.

To prevent the dispenser from moving I put a silicone trivet that I had at home and a cloth. I show you:

We have placed your glass so that can serve water alone, and cloths so you can dry any spilled water.

Also We put their plates, cloth napkins and cutlery to help us set the table whenever you feel like it.

TRICK: You can put a small round basin at the bottom so that most of the water falls out the first few times. I show you:

2.- Space in the hall for Matteo 🧥👟

We have put a mini bench at the entrance of the house 🪑

You can recycle any step you have at home (I used that step in the photo in the kitchen) to take off and put on my shoes alone, and a hanger attached to its height to hang my coat.🧥

3.- Improvised sink at your height 🚿🫧

We have renounced bidet 🙈 and we adapt it like your sink to wash your hands with a soap dispenser🧴

We have also put a container for place the comb  (We still need to put a small mirror on the wall). 🪞

Finally, we have put a hook 🪝 with a small towel at your height.

The truth is that we start with the hall corner, followed by the sink and finally, the kitchen corner. Matteo has gotten used to it and when he is at home he uses both spaces a lot.

Thank you for reading this far, I hope you find my ideas useful.

I would love to know how you have adapted your house to your little one.

I read you!! 💬

A hug,

Carolina 💜
